About the work: 
For this next floral piece, I decided add an additional type of plant. The red flower, which is the focus of the portrait, is called “candelilla” or “talón de sangre” in Quichua. We stumbled upon it during a short hike in Otavalo. 
 
The yellow flower is called “zapatito” which translates to "little shoe."  I have seen these in every hike in the Andes. They are one of my favorites.
